Kristina Food Shoot

Yesterday I got a last minute job to help a friend on her food-themed video series. It was a cool experience because I got to put on a cinematography hat for a change. I’m no lighting expert, but I’ve definitely learned a thing or two from film school and working on many many film shoots. And with all the videography I’ve done – from Judy Moody, short films, market research interviews – I’ve really grown to know my Canon 7D. On top of that, I recently invested in a Canon L-series lens and was excited to give it a whirl. Using daylight, a white piece of fabric bought from [JoAnn] and several small house lights, I was able to achieve what I think looks very professional. Now, there are a number of things I would have loved. More rim light, for one. But for something last minute, I’m pretty pleased. And so is my friend.

Thanks for the opportunity, Kristina!
